Polychrome Jasper was an accidental find in Madagascar. Explorers were searching for new deposits of the famous Ocean Jasper and stumbled upon this colorful jasper in their search.  Yet another of the many varieties of semi-precious stone that come from the African island.

As it's name implies, it is full of many colors.  Swirls of blue, orange, red and yellow are revealed when the seemingly plain stone is cut.  It has uniform hardness and polishes nicely.
